If you've ever taken the LIE to or from Midtown to either LaGuardia or Kennedy airport then chances are that you've seen 5 Poitz. This cultural institution in Long Island City, a home for graffiti artists, will be torn down this winter by a real estate developer.  I went to capture some images earlier this fall and was so glad that I did as artists recently painted the building white prior to demolition.

Even a film festival.  I spotted this marquee at the Sunshine Theater on Houston.  I thought it must be a joke, but it turns out that it was a real event:
